Dear Jiu Jitsu Team, 

We hope your spring break was / is a blast! We are heading into the second qtr of 2016! ALREADY! How can we better coach you? Please let us know and we will do our best to train and coach you / your child. 

FRIDAY SCHEDULE: 
- Regular 6am & 9am class
- 6-7pm Wrestling
- 7:15-9:30 BJJ Rules Clinic: $50 Registration

SATURDAY SCHEDULE: 
- 8:00AM Doors Open
- 8:30AM KIDS begin
- 10:00AM Award ceremony
- 10:30AM ADULT begin
- NOON Award ceremony

Spectator Admission: Canned Food Item. All students, friends, and family are welcome to come watch and enjoy the exciting matches!

SPRING TRAINING CAMP: 
April 8th, 9th and 10th in El Dorado Hills! SEE ATTACHED FILE
We will have some world class Black Belts from Northern California participating in our camp. Please come ready to train hard and have fun! This camp is open to all White Belts with 2 stripes and above. See Eliot for questions. Admission to the training camp is one canned food item!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND - All jiujitsu players and coaches that want to have an edge in understanding how to better play the game, teach, and coach mat side.

BJJ TOURNAMENT: 
WHO SHOULD COMPETE - American Cup competitors, White belts with 1+ stripe, All kids with 3 months of experience or more, 
WHY COMPETE - 
1. Learn resilience in adversity 
2. Power of presence 
3. Stress and recovery 
4. Listening  
5. Loving the challenge
6. Further navigation 

These are 6 concepts we focus on through the idea of competition. Some of which we have already covered in class. The tournament allows a setting where we can further focus on the process of getting better in our practice. The tournament will is also a community food drive! Spectators admission is one canned food item. Family and friends are welcome!

JAPAN DAY DEMO
- April 17th, Sunday
We've reserved about 30 minutes of mat time of Japan Day at CSU Sacramento. This will be a fun opportunity to show case the art of jiu-jitsu. We will need 5-6 kids and adults to volunteer to choreograph a demonstration. This will require about 6-10 hours of preparation. 

AMERICAN CUP
- April 23/24
Challenge yourself to a local tournament! The American Cup takes place this year in SF. Register early and get a discount. Registration is online at bjjtour.com The Kids & Juniors class will be meeting from 5-6pm on Thursday to get some extra training to prepare! All are welcome!

We have our very first IBJJF PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDALIST! Congratulations to Zack! Allan also took home a bronze medal from the championships. Here are the other results:

Adult Blue:

Master 5 Purple:

Adult Black: 
- Eliot: Competitor

Master 1 Black:
- Michel: Competitor 

Today will be the last day to train with visiting black belt Michel Miyashita. Please come train and say your thank you!

Dear BJJ TEAM, 

Today we will have belt promotions! This is a special team event for everyone to join and celebrate! We are expecting 5 + black belts and students from various local jiujitsu schools to be present and share our celebrations! 

- Kids & Juniors 5:00-6:00pm 
We will play some games before and after the promotions. Please come dressed in your best gi. During the promotions we will share a few words about each student to the class. 

- Juniors & Adults: 6:30-7:30pm 
We will share a few words about each student being promoted. Their story on and off the mat. 

- Open Mat 7:30~ 
White belts with one stripe and all students are welcome to stay and roll. 

- Dinner 8:30~
All are welcome to join us for dinner at the Relish Burger 

*Juniors may participate in either promotion times.


MICHEL MIYASHITA SEMINAR:
Tomorrow is the last day to register with a discount for the seminar with Professor on Friday, March 11th. 
6:00-7:00pm Kids (age 8-13) $20 
7:00-9:00pm Adults (age 14+) $40
All are welcome to join us for dinner after the seminar at Relish Burger.
